| | Let's continue my countdown of the five most iconic
moments of the late 90s and early 2000s
Moment 5: The 2004 Boston Red Sox, led by David Ortiz and Manny
Ramirez, break the Sox's 86-year championship drought, commonly known as the curse of the Bambino.
|
Moment 4: 17 year old Serena Williams wins her first grand slam
in '99. She would go on to win 73 singles titles and be ranked the world
No. 1 in women's singles for 319 weeks. |
Moment 3: Holyfield v Tyson II, the "Bite Fight". In a rematch
of Holyfield's stunning knockout of Tyson in '97, Tyson would be
disqualified by biting off a piece of Holyfield's ear.
|
Moment 2: A young Tiger Woods dons the green jacket after his first major win at the 97' Masters, besting Tom Kite by a tournament record 12 strokes.

Moment 1: What better
way to encapsulate the 90s and early 2000s than with an iconic MJ dunk.
Coming off 6 championships in 7 years, Michael Jordan is pictured here
throwing down a dunk from the free throw line in the first round of the
1998 NBA Slam Dunk contest, a contest he would go on to win. |
